Four Generations
We are family-owned farm focused on raising all-natural, hormone-free, grass-fed Black Angus Beef at Wallace Gap Farm. As our herd grew, we needed additional grazing land so in 2018 we purchased the BDR Farm. On the farm was a historic but very run down farmhouse built in 1896 and added to in 1926. The farmhouse was a mess! We almost tore it down but preserving the integrity of the 19th century farmhouse was important.
Our patriach, Scott Lovelace, spent nearly 5 years meticulously renovating the Manor House and saving historically relevant architecture wherever possible. Preservng the Manor house was a labor of love. With enhanced foundation, new HVAC systems, new thermal windows, and a stunning stone patio, the Manor House is ready for you. Today, life and charm flourishes at the Manor House @ BDR Farm. We offer beautiful, historic country charm to make memorable gatherings of family and friends.
What's a BDR? Our family patriach was fondly known as "Big Daddy Rabbit" by his young children. The BDR Farm memorializes the family nickname. And remember, when Big Daddy Rabbit thumps, you jump!
